Loanword is a word adopted from a foreign language with little or no modification.

I’m very amazed with this kind of words, because there are too many words like that and I want to share an activity that we make in class to write a list with this loanword and their language origins.

3. Maestro – Spanish.

4. Adobe – Arabic.

5. Alcohol – Arabic.

6. Catsup – Cantonese.

7. Philosophy – Latin.

8. Bazooka – Dutch.

9. Boulevard – Dutch, English and French.

10. Chocolate – Nahualt.

11. Carnival – Italian.

12. Piano – Italian.
